Selina Bahar's contribution recalled

They said Selina Bahar Zaman worked hard throughout her life to publish many books with her own money.

Selina Bahar Zaman Citizens Mourning Committee organised the meeting yesterday at Cirdap auditorium in the city.

Prof Sirajul Isalm Chowdhury said Selina discharged her responsibilities accordingly both to her family life and to the cultural arena.

"Her works were righteous and honest which would contribute to the country's cultural arena," Prof Chowdhury added.

Prof Kabir Chowdhury said apart from hard work and devotion Selina Bahar added affection to her works.

"Through her writings, Selina presented any difficult situation in a simple manner," said Prof Kabir Chowdhury adding that her works should be conveyed to the future generation so that they could learn something new.

Prof Zillur Rahman Siddique said the death of Selina Bahar Zaman was a blow to the country's literary and cultural arena.

Prof Rafiqul Islam, Writer Abdul Mannan Syed,Prof Anisuzzaman, writer Selina Hossain, Iqbal Bahar Chowdhury and journalist Zaglul Ahmed Chowdhury also addressed the condolence meeting.
