Woman falls from 6-storey bldg, dies

The victim was identified as Hasiya Begum aged about 35, of Hiron, Kotalipara, Gopalganj. The incident occurred when Hasiya, a resident of the Prabin Hitaishi Sangha at Agargaon in the city, tried to escape from the building using her sarees at 3:30am, said Mohammadpur police.

Hasiya, wife of Tuku Miah, was allegedly raped in a house in Dhanmondi on September 12 while she was working as a domestic help. She was treated at the One Stop Crisis Centre (OCC) in Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) for 14 days. Later, the OCC authorities transferred her to the Probin Bhaban on September 26.
