Dhaka explores ways to boost manpower export
Bangladesh Association of International Recruiting Agents (Baira) President Mosharraf Hossain MP will accompany him during the visit. The delegation is scheduled to return on December 29, according to sources.
During the visit, the delegation would meet a number of ministers and high officials of that country, including ministers for foreign affairs, labour and health.
They would hold discussions on the possibilities of increasing manpower export from Bangladesh.
Approximately 5,000 Bangladeshis are being employed in Oman every year. More than one lakh Bangladeshis are now working in the kingdom in various sectors, according to sources.
Meanwhile, the Expatriate Welfare Ministry sources said even though Malaysia is yet to open the labour market for foreigners, it recently recruited 30 nurses from Bangladesh. Besides, Sarwak, an autonomous state of Malaysia, hired 600 workers from here this month, sources told the Daily Star.
