A hope for CHT children

Care Bangladesh organised the national seminar recently.

Care Bangladesh Country Director Steve Wallace in his opening statement said Care's education programme is a vehicle to start up work in the education sector, which is totally different from its other traditional. This project works with diverse ethnic groups of the CHT area and teaches in local languages in the schools while continue Bengali as the principle language. It enables students to learn local culture through education with joy.

Deputy Minister for the CHT Moni Saewpan Dewan, also the chief guest of the programme, emphasised on building social leaderships. Many interior parts of the CHT is still untouched by the government while Care has filled that gap by coming forward with innovative life oriented education programmes, he added.

Special guest Ms Beth Page from the USAID said USAID believes that access to quality education is a fundamental human right. Hence they will continue their support for it.
