Use technology for development

Moyeen Khan tells seminar

Science and Information and Communications Technology Minister Abdul Moyeen Khan called upon youths to bloom their latent talents for the development of the country.

"You people are meritorious enough to stand for the country by using your talent," the minister said while addressing a seminar on technology convergence at the BCS Computer Show as chief guest. Use the technology to change the fate of the nation, he added.

McDonald C. Homer of USAID and Bangladesh Computer Samity (BCS) President SM Iqbal addressed the seminar among others.

Akhtaruzzaman Manju, President of Internet Service Providers Association (ISPAB) chaired the session while Mujtaba Sattar Anonto, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Inforev Limited, presented the key note paper.

McDonald in his speech praised the potential of Bangladeshi youths and said USAID would continue to support youth entrepreneurs. He said IT, which requires human resources, is one of the important growth area for the country.

Anonto in his keynote paper said that cellular technology would be the most preferred platform for technology convergence because of its huge popularity. Bangladesh would have more value added services in the coming years, he added.

Akhtaruzzaman Manju thanked the minister and USAID for continued support for the development of ICT of the country.
