Woman commits suicide after poisoning to death daughter
A woman named Manjuara, 30, committed suicide at noon on Sunday after poisoning to death her 18-month old daughter, Mariam. She was the wife of a farmer, Ayub Ali, of the Krishnapur village under Sharsa upazila in Jessore district.
According to Benapole thana, the woman fed her daughter and took herself liquid insecticide.
The woman had a quarrel with her drug addict husband, who police said never looked after his family properly.
Extreme poverty and starvation pushed the woman to commit suicide after killing her daughter, police said. Ayub Ali is absconding.
The case was recorded with Benapole Port thana on Monday.
