Shekar Sandhan, a research organisation, has recorded 110 speeches of Bangabandhu in two formats- CDs and MP3s.

Justice Mohammad Habibur Rahman, chief advisor of the former caretaker government, inaugurated the CDs at the National Press Club in the city.

He said it would help the new generation to know about Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

"We should keep Sheikh Mujibur Rahman above party politics as there is no one who had more contribution than him to our liberation war in 1971," he added.

"We will collect information about all our great leaders and preserve them in CDs and MP3s as they are our national heritages," said Prof Abu Sayeed, president of Shekar Sandhan.

"It is a milestone in the history of our country because new and future generations will know about the contribution of Bangabandhu in the liberation war through these CDs and MP3s," said AAMS Arefin Siddique, president of Dhaka University Teachers' Association.

"These CDs and MP3s will play a vital role to make the future generation aware about the contribution of Sheikh Mujib," said AK Azad Chowdhury, former vice-chancellor of Dhaka University.

Justice KM Sobhan, Col Shawkat Osman, AFM Jahangir Hossain and Mostafa Jamal Mahiuddin also spoke at the launching ceremony.
