Tobacco ads to be banned: Mosharraf
He said advertisement of tobacco products in the newspapers, electronic media, billboards, sponsoring of sports and patronising any scholarships would be banned so that the young generation could not indulged themselves in smoking.
He was speaking at a function organised by Bangladesh Anti tobacco Alliance at the Atomic Commission auditorium in the city.
He said initiatives would be taken to pass the Smoking and Use of Tobacco Products (Control) Bill 2004 in the next session of parliament.
General Secretary of the Consumers' Association of Bangladesh (CAB) Kazi Faroque chaired the function.
