Release of BCL leaders demanded

Organised by Narsingdi district unit of BCL, the rally was followed by a procession that marched through the town.

Speakers at the rally accused the government of harassing the opposition leaders by putting them into jail on false charges to suppress the oust-government movement.

They demanded that the government immediately release all the arrested BCL leaders, including SM Quaiyum, Kamruzzaman Kamrul, Sana Ullah Sani and Jubayer Ahmed.

The protesters also threatened that they would go for tougher movement unless the government immediately releases the leaders.

Earlier on Tuesday, BCL General Secretary Nazrul Islam Babu and other central committee leaders visited the arrested leaders at the Narsingdi District Jail to express sympathy to their colleagues.
