Mob gouges out eyes of outlaw in Jessore
Angry mob beat up a listed criminal and gouged out his eyes in Keshabpur upazila of Jessore district on Tuesday evening.
The mob caught Kartik Mondol, 30, at Kalagachi Bazar while he was extorting tolls from the traders.
He was later handed over to the police.
Kartik is an armed cadre of the outlawed New Biplobi Communist Party (NBCP) and an accused in 18 murder cases, police said. He was the bodyguard of NBCP chief Monoranjon Goshai alias Mrinal who was gunned down in Nadia district of West Bengal recently.
Kartik, son of Mukul Mondol, returned from India last Monday.
