Gunrunner held with 5 shotguns

A team of Karnaphuli Police Station, while searching city-bound vehicles at a checkpost at Old Bridgeghata area, intercepted a CNG-run autorickshaw with three youths on board at around 10.00pm.

Two of the youths managed to flee while the other identified as Md Kamal Uddin, 24, was held with a bag that contained the firearms and ammunitions.

Kamal, son of late Ali Ahmed of Banarupapara under Bandarban thana headquarters, confessed that they were smuggling the firearms into the city after procuring them from CHT areas.
