Security forces launch manhunt for criminals
Lance Corporal Abu Bakar was shot dead when he was in an army team on duty at a religious fair at a Buddhist temple at Jamchhari at about 1:30am.
Sources said members of the security force are continuing their massive search operation in suspected areas and vehicles.
They arrested eight indigenous people of whom three were released later on.
Members of army and BDR have been deployed at important points and establishments of Bandarban hill district, They are also patrolling the town.
The tribal miscreants have attacked the members of the security forces three times in Roangchhari upazila in the last two months.
Our Manikganj Correspondent adds: the body of Abu Bakar was buried at his own village Sreebari under Gheor Upazila in Manikganj on Monday night.
His body was first taken to his native village Bachmara under Daulatpur upazila in Manikganj by army helicopter on Monday afternoon. But as the victim's family now live in their newly built house at Sreebari, the body was taken back to Savar Cantonment from where it was later sent to Sreebari by an army vehicle.
He left behind his wife Hafza Begum, one son Hashim and one daughter Shammi.
