A boy was killed and 30 people, including an engine driver, were injured when a passenger train rammed into a goods train at Bahadurabad Ghat yesterday.

Railway sources said the Dhaka-bound intercity Teesta Express left Bahadurabad Ghat at 3:00pm and entered the line no 3 of its upper station at 3:05pm due to a wrong clearance.

The driver of the passenger train braked hard but failed to stop the speeding train that rammed into the goods train standing on the line.

The goods train rolled forward and crushed Shahidul, 7, who was playing on the railway track.
