Boy of 10 arrested in rape case

The minor boy, son of late Barek Munshi, arrested by Swarankhola police from Matherparh village was sent to Bagerhat district jail the following day.

As a result of the accused minor boy's illicit relationship with Salma Khatun (22), daughter of Rustam Farazi of Dakkhin Badhal village under Swarankhola upazila, she became pregnant, the prosecution says.

Yunus Farazi, uncle of Salma filed a case with Bagerhat court alleging that the minor boy refused to marry her. In the case, he named the minor boy, his mother, two sisters and two maternal uncles as accused under Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.

None but the minor boy, however, has so far been arrested although the rest are moving at large.

Meanwhile, officer-in-charge of Swarankhola Police Station said the minor boy has been made a victim of conspiracy over land dispute.
