Death anniversary of Major Jalil observed

Barisal district command of Muktijoddha Sangsad organised memorial discussion, milad mahfil and prize giving ceremony at the Ashwini Kumar Hall in the morning.

Presided over by Abdul Majid Khan, a commander of the liberation war, the discussion was participated by Nurul Alam Farid, joint convenor, and Muid Khan Khokan, member-secretary of the sangsad, Nuru Mia, Israil Pandit, Rezai Rahim Ferdous, Bazlur Rahman, Mojibur Rahman, Mohsin Morshed and Abdul Latif Birprotik.

The speakers called for naming Barisal Airport Major M A Jalil Bimanbandar and giving him a posthumous state honour.

Later, prizes were given to the winners of an essay competition arranged on this occasion.

Uzirpur upazila Muktijoddha Sangsad and Major Jalil Smriti Parishad also organised discussion to mark the occasion.

Milad and doa mahfils were also arranged by the family members at the village home of Major Jalil at Barakota in the afternoon.
