Leaders of Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) yesterday expressed concern over the second visit of Tarkel L Patterson, US deputy assistant secretary for south Asia, to Bangladesh within a span of two months.

CPB President Shahidullah Chowdhury and General Secretary Mujahidul Islam Selim, in a joint statement, said during the previous visit Patterson made a speech which was quite threatening for the democracy of the country.

They said the remark of Patterson was a direct interference in the internal affairs of this country.

The CPB leaders urged the countrymen to remain alert about US conspiracy against the democracy in Bangladesh.

The statement also condemned the arrival of a new group of peace corps in Dhaka.
