President, PM greet Pope

In a message of felicitation, the president expressed his confidence that the bonds of friendship and mutual cooperation that exist between Bangladesh and the Holy See would further develop in the coming years.

Prime Minister Khaleda Zia in a separate message also felicitated the Pope on the occasion of the Inauguration Anniversary of his Pontificate that falls today (Friday)

"I take this opportunity to express my sincere hope that the close and friendly relations that already exist between Bangladesh and the Holy See will be further strengthened in the years to come," she said.

Both President Iajuddin and Prime Minister Khaleda Zia wished Pope John Paul II good health, happiness and long life, and for the continued peace and prosperity of the Holy See.
