He said this while reviewing the progress of implementation of different projects undertaken by the ministry for overall development of agriculture sector, an official handout said.

State Minister for Agriculture Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Secretary of Ministry A S M Abdul Halim and all heads of different departments under the ministry and high officials concerned were present at the meeting.

The meeting was told that Rice, Jute and Agriculture Research Institutes have their own banks where germplasms were preserved. A step is needed to ensure the preservation of those germplasms for centuries.
