Five killed in bus plunge in Rangpur

The Dhaka-bound passenger bus from Kurigram skidded off the road and fell into the ditch as the driver lost his control over the steering, police said.

Amid drizzling, the bus was proceeding towards its destination at a high speed and the accident took place soon after crossing the Kurigram town.

Nineteen passengers, out of 32 injured, were admitted to different hospitals and medical centres. The condition of six people was stated to be critical.

The identities of the dead could not be known. The bodies have been kept at Mithapukur Upazila Health Complex.
