Attack on AL Rally

Proper probe demanded

DU Correspondent
Three left-leaning student organisations yesterday demanded proper investigation and punishment to the culprits responsible for the August 21 grenade attack on Awami League (AL) rally.

The organisations were Samajtantrik Chhatra Front (SCF), Bangladesh Chhatra Federation (BCF) and Biplobi Chhatra Moitree (BCM).

They also demanded immediate stopping of FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) investigation into the incident.

The organisations made the demands from separate rallies on the Dhaka University campus.

SCF President Khalequzzaman Lipon said the attack on Sheikh Hasina was a attack on the sovereignty and democracy of the country.

The SCF leaders urged the countrymen to launch a united movement to oust the alliance government as it has failed to ensure the security of life.

The BCF leaders said the government could not find out the clue of the grenade attack even after 20 days.

They demanded a neutral probe by the local intelligence in stead of the FBI.

BCM President Abu Naser Anik said frequent bomb attacks are taking place due to failure of the government to nab the attackers.

Earlier, they brought out separate processions on the campus.
