3 killed in city road accidents
In Tejgaon, a private car driver lost control of the vehicle and drove over the footpath killing one and injuring two other pedestrians along with himself at 3:00pm.
The dead was identified as Jakir Hossain, 27, owner of a tea-stall at Sangsad Bhaban area.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the doctors declared him dead.
Two injured were undergoing treatment at the DMCH while the driver was admitted to a private hospital.
In Ramna, a 12-year-old Sajib Mollah was vomiting through the window of a bus heading towards Gulistan when another bus, coming from the opposite direction, hit and severed his head at Shahbagh at 12:30pm.
Sajib, who came to visit his grandparents at Mirpur from his village home in Madaripur, died on the spot.
In Khilgoan, a 14-year-old Rubel, an employee of a shop at Malibahg Super Market, was run over by a bus while he was crossing the road at 8:00am.
Rubel died on the spot.
The mob set a bus on fire when it hit a rickshaw injuring its puller after an hour in the same place.
Police seized all the vehicles and sent the bodies to DMCH morgue for autopsy.
