BCS organised a post participation session at its conference hall on August 18 to share the experience of the 17-member team from Bangladesh at the Bangkok ICT EXPO 2004, says a press release.

BCS president S M Iqbal shared his experience and provided details on the participation of the Bangladesh team at the EXPO. "Located at the ASEAN zone, the Bangladesh pavilion was able to pull a lot of crowd compared to other countries at the zone," he said.

Bangladeshi participants exhibited their international standard software products and services. BCS also mentioned that all participating companies received fruitful responses from the prospective clientele. Among them, one company was able to sell their software on the spot while another company managed to sign an agreement for delivering software. As a follow up of the expo, another software house will be going to Middle East to sign an agreement on their product. Overall it was a golden opportunity for the participating companies to explore the international software market.

BCS Secretary General Ali Ashfak said that they were able to gather practical knowledge on how to organise an international mega expo of the same kind in Bangladesh. He also admired the Bangladeshi team spirit.

Among the participants, Rafiqul Islam Rowly of CLS Software Resources Ltd, Mahmud Hossain of Millennium Solution Ltd, Yousuf Ali Shamim of Acute Information Systems Ltd, M Reazul Hassan of REVE Systems and Motaleb Hossain Manik of TRI-GEM Computers shared their experiences of the EXPO. While discussing about the possibilities of our software industry, they also mentioned about the employment opportunity for Bangladeshi Programmers in the nearby countries like Thailand, Malaysia, Myanmar and Brunei.
