Bus owners begin strike in Khulna

The district administration at a meeting of the law and order committee on Wednesday decided to close Ferry Ghat Bus Stand to ease growing traffic jam. Mayor Shaikh Tayebur Rahman presided.

The bus stand has been shifted to Sonadanga bus terminal.

Buses plying on 18 routes from Ferry Ghat Bus Stand created serious traffic jam in the city. Bus owners were using Ferry Ghat Bus Stand without any legal authority, said Ranjit Gharai, Chief Executive Officer of Khulna City Corporation.
