BTTB opens control room
Bangladesh Telegraph and Telephone Board has opened a control room to keep the telecommunications system operative in the face of possible disruption of the network as floods have been sweeping most parts of the country.
The control room has been set up at the central office of T&T (Telejogajog Bhaban), which will remain open from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, a BTTB press release said.
The telephone numbers of the control room are: 9362961 and 936 2962.
The board made the arrangement to maintain communications and coordination with all its regional control centres through central control room.
About 500 telephones under Maghbazar exchange have gone out of order due to trouble in the underground cable.
The repair work of the cable will start immediately after getting clearance from Dhaka City Corporation for digging roads, the press release added.
