Khulna Jubo League leader falls sick during interrogation

Babul Majumdar is involved in underground activities under the cover of Jubo League holding the post of district committee publicity secretary, police said. He is also wanted in murder and other criminal cases, police added.

District Jubo League President Kamruzzaman Jamal said that he and his party leaders were not aware of Babul Majumdar's secret link with the underground party. Babul has fallen sick due to interrogation, Kamruzzaman said.

Khulna Police super said Babul has been acting as fourthin-command of the outlawed New Biplobi Communist Party (NBCP) headed by Monoranjan Goshai alias Mrinal.

He said the Jubo League Leader is an employee of 'Maternity and Child Care Centre' at Baitypara under Khulna thana where he has been serving as its security guard for the last three years.

Police said that Babul Majumdar has two brand new motorcycles and two costly cell phones of his own. Besides, he used ambulance of the maternity centre for carrying NBCP armed cadres, police added. The NBCB armed cadres used to hold secret meeting at night at the maternity centre, few yards away from the press club.
