Journalist stabbed in Meherpur

Miscreants stabbed a journalist at Gangni Bazar in Meherpur on Saturday.

Nurul Huda, a local correspondent of the Bhorer Kagoj is now fighting for life at Meherpur Sadar Hospital.

According to police, a gang of six miscreants led by one Abbas Ali attacked Nurul Huda while he was sitting with some people at a tea stall.

The gang dragged him out of the tea stall and stabbed him indiscriminately before leaving him in a pool of blood.

No body came to help Nurul Huda in fear of Abbas who threatened the witnesses not disclose the incident, police added.

Local people rushed him to a private clinic from where he was shifted to Meherpur Sadar Hospital as his condition deteriorated.

Abdul Gani MP visited the hospital to see the wounded journalist and asked the police to arrest the criminals immediately.

Local journalists also condemned the attack and demanded arrest of the culprits.
