Get the feel of the real world as you keep learning

"It is a necessity for the students studying in the computer science and engineering fields to build a bridge between their academic and professional ICT world for their better future," said Syed Akhter Hossain, chairman of the CSE department of the university.
The seminar had Syed Mamnun Quader, managing director and CEO, Southtech Limited, as the main speaker. Also present were Dr Azad Khan, professor, CSE department, EWU, Tajul Islam, systems analyst, Akiz Computer Limited and Mohammad Zakir Hossain Sarker, moderator, EWU Computer Club.
Commending a student, who had just passed HSC examinations and has already developed a software like the Bangla Unicode, Syed Akhter Hossain pointed out the potentiality of most computer science students. The students present on the occasion would be granted half tuition waiver for a full year at the university Hossain said.
"Through effective utilisation of resources and fulfilling the specific requirements of the industry, the ICT sector, as a whole, would be profiting in the long run," said Tajul Islam.
"A well-planned initiative toward the right field has to be the main focus of students who want to be successful in the ICT sector," said Syed Mamnun Quader.
He cited e-governance, enterprise systems, financial sector, transport sector among many others as the areas where IT is playing vital roles.
He stressed on the fact that each of the areas would require a lot of experience-based skills and the 'junior' and 'senior' academic years would be a good start for the students.
"With effective Internships, visits to industries and other such methods, students can acquire more on-the-job skills which would aid them to build up their careers in the future," Quader concluded.
The seminar was helpful for the future industry players who should start gaining professional experience in their early period and focus on their future course while enhancing their skills.
