Sight Savers chief arrives today

Sir John Coles, chairperson of the Sight Savers International (SSI), UK arrives in Dhaka today on an official visit, says a press release.

The Sight Savers is a British eye care agency working in Bangladesh since 1973 in partnership with the government and NGOs.

John Coles is also a former head of British Diplomatic Service and Permanent Under Secretary to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

During his week-long stay, he will explore the possibilities of expanding eye health services in the country in cooperation with the government and support from different donor agencies.

He will also visit SSI-supported eye care projects in Chittagong and Narsingdi.
