BNP office, MP's residence vandalised at Sreepur
In another incident, an armed gang attacked the house of Rahmat Ali MP in the bus terminal area in the upazila headquarters, damaging TV, fan, door, window, table, chair and showcase.
The attack was launched at about 11.00pm when there were no members of the family in the house, excepting the caretaker, who managed to duck behind the backdoor.
Party sources alleged local police declined to record a case in this connection till filing of this report at 4.00pm Friday.
The Mawna Union BNP office came under attack at about 8.00pm following an altercation between the activists of Chhatra Dal and Chhatra League of Piyar Ali Degree College, police and locals said.
Three of the injured -- Fazlul Haque, organising secretary of Sripur Upazila BNP, Dr Shahidullah and local postmaster Abu Sayeed -- were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital "in critical condition".
During the rampage, chair, table and four motorbikes were damaged. In an instant protest, BNP activists staged demonstrations.
A case was filed against 23 activists of the Awami League.
