C'wealth Writers Prize 2004 to be announced Feb 27
The Commonwealth Writers Prize 2004 of the Eurasian region is going to be announced on February 27 in Kolkata.
The short list will be published on February 22.
Dr Sangjukta Dasgupta is the chairperson of the panel of judges and one of the two jury members is Prof. Dr Fakrul Alam of Dhaka University.
A total of 102 books were submitted from eight countries in the region. But no entries were submitted from Bangladesh this year.
Bangladesh-born writer Monica Ali's Brick Lane is among the strongest contenders to win the award from this region.
Bangladesh-born writer Adib Khan's Seasonal Adjustment won the award in the best first book category in 1995.
