NDI publishes Guidebook to 8th parliament

Throughout the democratic world, citizens need access to their government and this timely and important publication contains information on the 300 members of parliament, the ministries and the parliamentary standing committee, NDI said in a press release yesterday.

Information for the guide was collected from a number of state agencies and copies of the Guidebook have already been presented to Speaker Muhammad Jamiruddin Sircar, Political Secretary to the Prime Minister MA Harris Chowdhury and Awami League General Secretary Abdul Jalil.

Speaking on this occasion here, NDI Country Director Owen Lippert said, "The Guidebook is a great reference tool. It will be distributed as widely as possible to contribute to greater political communication and accountability".

Copies of the Guidebook have already been sent to the deputy commissioners and six divisional commissioners and are being sent to all ministries.
