37 chargesheeted in 2 policemen murder

Twenty-nine of them are still at large.

It has been stated in the five-page charge sheet that sub Inspector Shamsul Huq and Havildar Abu Bakar Siddique of Shiali camp under Rupsha thana were slaughtered and shot dead at about 10.00 am on July 3 last year at Bamandanga Bazar when they came out of a restaurant after taking tea.

PBCP armed cadres Hafizur Rahman Akash, Bulbul, Mahbub and Mizan Mina gunned down the policemen and slaughtered them to confirm their death in front of the restaurant. Later, they threw the bodies in the river. The killers left the spot by two motor cycles after committing the murders, charge sheet said.

Former OC Sirajul Islam recorded the case with Rupsha thana as complainant.

Eight chargesheeted accused arrested so far are Dinu Shikder, Pradip Biswas, Palash Molla, Tuhin Molla, Shahid Shikder, Enamul Shaikh, Bulu Molla, Abdur Rahman, Sarwar and Bulu Shaikh. Of the chargesheeted accused 34 belong to outlawed PBCP (M-L).
