Keraniganj AL leader shot dead

Police and witnesses said Badiuzzaman Badu, 45, also a local businessman, was attending an arbitration when he was attacked by a group of gunmen.

"About five men fired at will after storming the Association office at around 3:30pm. They then shot Badu dead point-blank before leaving the spot," a witness said.

The victim was rushed to hospital in Narayanganj where he was declared dead. The body was riddled with 12 bullets, doctors said.

Badu's family members blamed BNP cadres for the murder.
