FIR lodged accusing 3 BNP leaders
The FIR was filed by Mohammad Shafiqul Alam Nantu, younger brother of the slain chairman Khan Sadekul Islam.
The accused are President of Teligati union unit of BNP and former UP chairman Ashraf Ali Khan, his younger brother and General Secretary Akram Ali Khan and President of Teligati union unit of Jubo Dal and former UP member Alamgir Hossain Chowdhury.
In the FIR, the complainant stated that Ashraf Ali Khan and his younger brother Akram Khan they gave death threat to Sadekul Islam several times asking him not to contest any future elections.
Shafiqul Alam also stated that strained family relation is another cause of the death as his elder brother Sadequl Islam filed a general diary with Morrelganj thana a few days before he was killed seeking the security of his life from the possible attempt on his life by Ashraf and Akram who were their relatives.
The complainant has further said in the FIR that his younger brother Tarikul Islam Jhantu who was accompanying Sadekul Islam at the time of murder had seen the accused along with the killers hired from an outlawed organisation.
Meanwhile, Bagerhat district unit of Jatiya Sramik League begins a five-day programme from today to protest the murder of Sadekul Islam.
Local BNP leaders have denied the involvement of any of its leader or activist in the murder terming the FIR as politically motivated.
