Motorbike rider killed

He was identified as SM Jahed Chowdhury of Syedpur village under Boalkhali upazila in the district.

Police and witnesses said an inter-city bus on Chittagong-Dhaka highway knocked down the Jahed's bike near Bose Brothers crossing at Nandan Kanon at about 6.30am.

Jahed sustained serious injuries and was rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where the doctors declared him dead.

A case was filed with Kotwali police station in this connection.
