Bagerhat AL leader shot

Khan Sadekul Islam, 42, also chairman of Teligati Union Parishad under Morrolganj upazila, was admitted to Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH) in critical condition with four bullets in his back.

The assailants shot him at 5:45pm when he was talking to some of his party associates and drove away by a private car, sources said.

Activists of the Awami League and its other organisations staged demonstration in protest at the attack. Shops remained closed and transport services suspended. Angry activists also vandalised many cars and buses.
