25 hurt in BNP-AL clash in Kushtia village
At least 25 including two police were injured in a clash between the activists of the ruling BNP and main opposition Awami League at Chandpur village in Kumarkhali upazila Monday evening.
The clash took place following an altercation over constitution of Gram Sarkar.
Police said the villagers assembled at Chandpur Primary School ground at 5:00pm and were soon locked in an altercation, as both the BNP and AL activists pressed for their own people to include as the representatives in the local government.

Police rushed to the spot and fired five-round blank shots to bring the situation under control.
The injured are Sub-inspector Mafidul Islam, constable Ahad, Saruf, Awlad, Altab, Chuka, Mosarraf, Aziz, Rafik, Rahim, Selim. They were admitted to different health complexes.
The Gram Sarkar formation was postponed.
