Babar refutes Jalil's allegation
State Minister for Home Affairs Lutfuzzaman Babar yesterday refuted the Awami League general secretary's allegation that he was named in the chargesheet of a smuggling case during the past BNP rule, according to a press release.
In a reaction to the statement by AL leader Abdul Jalil, Babar said he must clarify under which case, if any, the charge was pressed against him and produce its number with no delay. Otherwise, the social position of the AL general secretary would be exposed, Babar said.
The AL leader will have to withdraw the statement and seek unreserved apology in a sign of political honesty, Babar demanded.
