Top outlaw held at Rajshai
Police arrested a leader of the outlawed Purbo Banglar Communist Party (PBCP) from a city hotel in the early hours yesterday.
Abdul Wahab Ali Mondal alias Rana Mondal of Sailokupa Upazila, Jhenidah is the second in command of the Haque faction of the PBCP active in the western region. He told police that he boarded the Prince Hotel at Shaheb Bazar on his way to India.
Police said Mondol was sentenced to a 15-year prison term in arms and robbery cases in Jhenidah. He was also an accused in several murder, abduction and robbery cases filed with different police stations.
