JCD activists beat JU journalist

A group of seven or eight activists beat up Belal Khosru, a correspondent of the daily Sangbad and student of government and politics department, at Battola at around 2:30pm and asked him to leave the campus. Belal is also a member of Bangladesh Chhatra Federation (BCF).

The group was led by Md Russell, publication secretary of JU JCD, sources said.

On information, the BCF leaders rushed to the spot and took Belal to the university medical centre.

The BCF also submitted a written complaint to Proctor Moshiur Rahman demanding punishment to the JCD cadres.

The Jahangirnagar University Journalists' Association and the Bangladesh Manobadhikar Sangbadik Forum condemned the attack and demanded punishment to the persons involved.

JU JCD President Parvez Mallik said they will investigate the incident.
