Lawyers continue court boycott in N'ganj
The lawyers of Narayanganj District Ainjibi Samity continued their court boycott for the second day yesterday protesting against the police assault on a lawyer at Simrail on Dhaka-Chittagong Highway on September 7.
They also demanded the removal of police super Helal Uddin Bodre, Siddhirganj thana officer-in-charge Abdur Rashid and traffic constable Abdul Jabbar for humiliating the lawyer.
The traffic police constable also brought charges of assault on him by the lawyer, who got bail from a magistrate's court on Sunday.
When contacted, SP Helal Uddin Bodre told BSS that he was not aware of the lawyers' demand for his removal.
He said both the lawyer and the traffic constable brought charges against each other.
