Dyeing unit at Demra gutted

Deen Islam, owner of Poly Printers at Bamoil in Demra, said the fire caused him a loss of at least Tk 20 lakh. He could not tell how the fire originated.

The factory went in flames at 10:12am consuming polyethylene, dyeing chemicals and equipment on the ground floor of the three-storied building.

Fire fighters from Demra and Postogola rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control after one and half hours, saving valuables worth about Tk 2 crore.
