581 cell phone sets seized at ZIA

The customs officials challenged Shah Alam and Mohammed Kabir Hossain at about 8.40am when they were trying to pass the green channel hurriedly with their luggage.

Joint Commissioner of the Customs Munirus Salehin, Deputy Commissioner Mohammed Abdur Rouf and other officials at the ZIA were present during the recovery.

The two passengers were trying to evade tax of nearly Tk 25 lakh.

The seized sets were deposited to the customs warehouse at the ZIA and a case was filed.
