14 receive Archbishop Ganguly Award

The award ceremony was held at BIAM auditorium in the city with Bishop Theotonius Gomes, Auxiliary Bishop of Dhaka, in the chair.

The weekly Protibeshi and Archbishop TA Ganguly Memorial Trust organised the event.

Mahfuz Anam, editor of The Daily Star, attended the ceremony as chief guest and distributed prizes among the winners.

The literary competition was divided into several categories.

In the short story section, Ronald Gabriel Costa of Dhaka, Manik Gomes of Pabna and Sheuli Gomes of America won the first, second and third prizes.

In the poetry section, the winners are Milton P Costa of Natore, Ribok Ekka (Joy) of Sirajganj and Imma Anna D'Costa of Dhaka.

And in the painting competition, the winners are Sabuj Anthony Gomes of Dhaka, Haimonti Gomes of Gazipur and Lili Mukti Gomes of Dhaka.

The winners in other categories are Chhanda Rani Das of Dinajpur (letter and opinion), Ranjan Rozario of Dinajpur (reporting), Jotsna Marcel Gomes of Dhaka (poetry), Sumon Korayia of Dhaka (story), and Sister Chandana (essay).
