AL man shot dead, Jubo League leader kidnapped in Kushtia

Police said a gang of six stormed into the house of AL activist Sahid Mahmud alias Mukul, 45, in Courtpara area of the town at about 3:30am and shot him point blank. Sahid died on the spot.

Police recovered the body in the morning and sent it to the Kushtia General hospital for autopsy.

The reason behind the killing could not be known.

The victim's family, however, did not lodge any case till filing of this report at 7:00pm yesterday.

In another incident, a Jubo League leader was abducted from Daulatpur at about 3:00am.

The victim is Alauddin, vice president of Adabaria Union Jubo League in Daulatpur upazila.

Police quoted family sources as saying an armed gang of seven called Alauddin out of his house at village Sehala and abducted him at gunpoint.

Police could not trace the victim till yesterday evening. A case was filed with Daulatpur Police Station.
