Injured PDB staff dies

Body of lineman Abdul Monnaf, 50, was laid to rest at the station road graveyard in Chittagong following his namaj-e-janaza after Johr prayers yesterday.

His body was brought to Chittagong in the morning.

Monnaf, his brother and PDB driver Abdul Wahab, work assistant Md Wajiullah and electrician Mohammad Idris sustained serious burn injuries while mending defects in a power transformer at the 33/11-KV stadium sub-station on Friday morning.

They were rushed to a city clinic.

Senior Medical Officer of PDB Dr Sadrul Haq said last night that the condition of Wahab was critical.
