Youth gunned down by BSF

The victim was identified as Idris Ali, 30, son of Abdur Jabbar of Julkarpara village in Khanpur of Kotwali thana.

Commandant of 14 rifles battalion Lt Col Mominur Rahman told BSS that the BSF patrol team at Lalchandpur Border Out Post (BOP) opened fire at the Bangladeshi youth at 12 noon yesterday.

The injured youth died five yards inside India near main pillar no-318 and sub-pillar no-2 on the border, he said.

Later, the BSF handed over the body of Idris Ali to the BDR through a flag meeting at 7pm yesterday.
