Odhikar counters claim of 62.88pc voter turnout
Addressing a press conference at Dhaka Reporters' Unity auditorium, Odhikar officials said they do not know where the remaining votes came from. "We observed a very poor voter turnout," they said.
Four-party candidate Khadija Amin has been declared winner unofficially.
Odhikar observed polling in 40 centres out of a total 124 in Kendua and Atpara.
"We did not observe any incident of clash but Awami League polling agents at Dharmaroy Ramdhon centre alleged that they were ordered to leave the polling centre," said Masud Alam Ragib Ahsan, director of Odhikar.
Referring to polling in Gopal Asram BC High School Centre, Ahsan said about 75 per cent vote were cast in the centre within 3:00pm of the polling day though we saw only one or two voters.
Odhikar officials Nazrul Islam, consultant Shahiduzzaman and Sajjad Hossain were present at the press briefing.
