Outlaw shot dead by his rivals in Khulna
Shaikh Dabirul Islam, 32, an armed cadre of outlawed Purbo Banglar Communist Party (PBCP) was gunned down by unidentified assailants at about 12:30pm yesterday in an under-construction building adjacent to the Islamia Collegiate School at Boyra under Sonadanga Police Station.
Dabirul was shot in the head, back and chest point blank. He died on the spot.
According to police, a gang of four swooped on Dabirul while he was taking heroin along with four others in the building.
The gang left the place raising slogan in the name of PBCP-Janajuddho, the rival faction of PBCP-Tapan.
Police recovered the body and sent it to hospital morgue for autopsy.
The slain, an accused in 11 murder cases, escaped from DB police custody at midnight on June 17 from Boyra.
Arrested from Jailkhana ferryghat on the evening of June 16, Dabir and another outlaw, Moin, escaped from police van during arms recovery operation led by Inspector Ahmad Ali and SI Rashid of DB, KMP. Moin is yet to be recaptured.
