Govt submits launch disaster reports to HC

A list of recommendations for the passenger security was also added to the reports.

A High Court Division Bench, comprising Justice Shah Abu Nayeem Mominur Rahman and Justice Abdul Awal, asked the petitioner to submit his comments on the reports. But the petitioner's lawyers will submit their comments on the reports on August 16.

Quazi Faruque, secretary-general of the Consumers Association of Bangladesh, filed a supplementary writ petition against the government. The High Court issued a rule nisi on the government on February 22 this year to explain why it should not ensure compliance of laws for navigational safety.

Dr Kamal Hossain along with Barrister Tanjib-ul Alam appeared for the petitioner.

The original writ petition was filed in 2001.
